Shoreline CT Beach Info for Summer 2023! | Shoreline Moms

Looking to head to the beach this summer? The Connecticut Shoreline has great beaches and fun for the whole family! Here’s all the info you need to access beaches in the area and what each has to offer!

Branford Point Beach

Resident stickers are available at Town Hall in the Tax Collector’s Office.

DuBois Beach in Stonington

The beach is open full-time, Monday – Sunday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. June 22 – Labor Day weekend. DuBois Beach season passes are available for individual adults and families. COMO members receive a $25 discount on duBois season passes. Day passes are $10 per person. Children 18 and under access the beach for free.

Parking is free of charge in the public lot adjacent to the beach.

Located at the southernmost tip of Water Street at Stonington Point, where you’ll enjoy a magnificent view of Stonington Harbor, Fisher’s Island Sound and Little Narragansett Bay.

Bluff Point State Park in Groton

This is a Connecticut State Park. There is a daily parking fee for non-residents. State Park/Forest Fees  | Season and other Park Passes. From Memorial Day weekend to Columbus Day only campers and fishermen with passes may enter the park after sunset.

Offers a delightful mixture of wooded hiking and biking trails coupled with spectacular wildlife viewing on Long Island Sound.

Eastern Point Beach in Groton

Eastern Point Beach is a lovely family oriented beach with seasonal amenities that include lifeguards, snack bar, restrooms and showers, and basketball and volleyball courts. Scenic views of where the Thames River meets the Long Island Sound are enjoyed by all.  The beach season runs from mid-June through Labor Day.

Esker Point Beach in Groton

Amenities include the beach, swimming areas, nine beach volleyball courts, personal watercraft launching area, shaded picnic areas, restrooms, and an outdoor shower. No lifeguard on duty.

Jacobs Beach in Guilford

Hammonasset Beach State Park

Connecticut’s largest shoreline park offers over 2 miles of beach to enjoy swimming, strolling along the boardwalk, or just relaxing in the sun and surf.

Harvey’s Beach in Old Saybrook

Daily Fee:
$15.00 per car Weekdays | $25.00 per car Weekends/Holidays ” Motorcycle $12.00 per day | Season Passes Available

Non-Resident Season Pass:
$150.00 (Good for one car/registration, marker number required from car registration.) Non-Resident Season Passes may be obtained in person at the Parks & Recreation Office (entrance on Sheffield St.) backside of the Town Hall. Provide current driver’s license and car registration for each vehicle. Season Passes not available for purchase at the beach.

  • Contracted food vendor on site Memorial Day through Labor Day and all Friday night concerts (weather pending)

Rocky Neck State Park in East Lyme

This is a Connecticut State Park.

Gently sloping, soft sandy beach, picnic areas, train watching, diverse trail systems and salt marsh viewing platforms make this park ideal for families. Try crabbing or fishing. Look for ospreys, cranes, and herons or other waterfowl.

Hole-In-The-Wall Beach in Niantic

At the Parks & Recreation Office permits will be sold from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. throughout the season. You are encouraged to purchase your season pass online or by mail to reduce lines at the community center, there is a $1.00 administrative fee for online pass sales. To purchase via mail: Mail in a copy of your vehicle registration, check payable to Town of East Lyme, stamped self-addressed envelope, and a Phone number to EL Parks & Rec, 41 Society Rd., Niantic, CT 06357. Click here to learn more.

This beach is accessed through a short tunnel under the railroad tracks. The white-sand beach slopes next to a swimming area sheltered by a stone jetty. To the right is McCook Point and to the left is the Niantic Bay Boardwalk. 

Cini Memorial Park & Niantic Bay Beach/Boardwalk

Roughly half mile long beach with the boardwalk going along the back edge. It is lifeguarded during the beach season, has two volleyball courts, and a fishing jetty. The beach is a popular spot for swimming, sunbathing and watching sunsets. A beach pass is required to access the beach between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

McCook Point Park & Beach

A beautiful bluff between two white, sandy beaches. On the bluff is a green lawn with a picnic pavilion, a bandshell and an events tent. The lawn is shaded by copper beeches, perfect for picnics, games or a relaxing walk.

Williams Beach Park in Mystic

Located at Mystic YMCA on the Mystic River (no life guard on duty) with playground, pavilion, grills, sport fields.

Connecticut’s state parks are accessible in a number of ways. Through the to the Passport to the Parks program, all visitors driving in vehicles registered in Connecticut can enter without paying any parking fee. Residents and out-of-state visitors can access shoreline parks by rail and connect to buses that provide service to the parks through the ParkConneCT program.
