Celebrate Connecticut Open House Day on Saturday, June 10 by learning about and enjoying museums, arts and cultural venues, historical sites, farms and restaurants in our backyard with free, discounted admission or special offers!

More than 200 tourist attractions across the state are participating. Here’s a list of some of the attractions in our area that are great for a family day!

Naugatuck Railroad
Thomaston, CT
The Naugatuck Railroad has partnered up with Fascia’s Chocolates for Connecticut Open House Day to offer train rides between Thomaston Station and Fascia’s Chocolate Factory! Excursions depart on the hour from Thomaston Station, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. and from Fascia’s Chocolate on the half hour, 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Waterford Historical Society Open House and Petting Zoo
Waterford, CT
FREE  tours and welcomes Thames Crest Farm to set up a petting zoo on Jordan Green including calves, baby goats and a donkey.

White Gate Farm
East Lyme, CT
The White Gate farm stand will be offering organic produce, chickens and eggs as well as prepared foods, pastries, sourdough bread, flowers and local crafts. Hot pizza is served beginning at 11:30 a.m. Feed the lambs, laying hens and Cornish chicks, and picnic on the farm’s lawns. Tractors will be out for inspection or climbing on.
