The Summer 2021 Guide to Shoreline Farmer’s Markets! | Shoreline Moms

We love checking out the local farmer’s markets in CT with our little family. It’s a great way to teach your kids about eating healthy and about where much of the food they eat comes from. Also, it’s a perfect excuse to check out some of the different shoreline towns and a fun way to spend the day outdoors and support local businesses! Below you’ll find a list of farmer’s markets on the Shoreline this summer!

Chester

Sundays 10 AM-1 PM
Main St.
June 13 to October 10

This is one of our favorite farmers markets to attend. Aside from the wide array of fresh produce, meat, cheese, and bread from local farms and vendors in surrounding towns; the Chester’s Farmer’s Market is a great excuse to visit the charming town of Chester. There is often a wood fired pizza truck and live band that accompany this Sunday market.  We love to get a beer from Little House Brewery or hit up the Wheatmarket, Simon’s Deli, or Otto for lunch.  This is high up on our list of farmer’s markets!

East Haddam

Monday & Saturday, 3 PM-6 PM
90 Maple Ave.
June 19 to Aug 28

From candles, art, spices, cannolis, pottery, and your typical farmers market bounty, the East Haddam Farmer’s Market has it all! I would take a tour of the farmer’s market, grab some goodies then take the kids to Gillette Castle State Park or the Ray of Light Farm for a perfect family day.

Madison

Fri, 3 PM-6 PM
26 Meeting House Ln
May 7 to Nov 19

Another favorite, the Madison Farmer’s Market has a wide array of vendors. Here you can find amazing kettle corn, fresh pasta, and wood fired pizza. Hammonasset Beach State Park is a short drive away if you want to continue the day outside or if you are trying to get out of the summer heat, hit up the upstairs of R.J. Julia Bookstore in Madison to get some summer reading in.

Niantic

Mon & Thurs, 3 PM-6 PM
Methodist St
June 24 to Oct 14

Niantic Farmer’s Market will satisfy your sweet tooth – with treats available from Dude’s Donuts or The Walsh Waffle Wagon. Nearby is The Niantic Children’s Museum which is a fun place to escape the summer sun and let your kid run wild. If you prefer to do something outdoors, the Niantic Bay Boardwalk is a beautiful one mile walk and another great place to view the CT Shoreline after a fun day at the farmer’s market!

Old Saybrook

Wed & Sat, 9 AM-1 PM
210 Main St
June 19 to Oct 30

The Old Saybrook Farmer’s Market has it all! From biscotti, homemade pies, beautiful breads, knitted items, and fresh produce – you can’t go wrong by visiting this farmers market. Grab a sandwich from the Mystic Market Kitchen and Eatery and bring to 30 Mile Brewing Company for a fun family outing for everyone. We also love Johnny Ads – a casual fried seafood joint where you can relax at a picnic table and then grab some old-fashioned hard ice cream.
